Chelsea Maisonette – Flood Street - Chelsea

Project background:

Prestige was appointed in 2013 to completely refurbish this maisonette located off the Kings Road in Chelsea – London. The apartment was quite dated with two bedrooms and one bathroom on the first floor and living room, dining room and kitchen at ground floor level with access to a large rear patio area.

The brief was challenging, but within the 6-month project we successfully reconfigured and refurbished the existing 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and created a landing linen cupboard to maximize space and transform it into a home with character. Downstairs, we maintained the living room and dining room area, introduced a cloak room under the stairs and doubled the size of the previously small kitchen still within the existing walls.

After a complicated structural jigsaw and intense detail design process around joinery and finishes, the result was a great success with the creation of two new ensuite bathrooms upstairs and an additional WC at lower ground floor level. The design approach was inspired to a settle style with a modern twist which has created continuity throughout the project.

Every piece of joinery in the project has been designed as bespoke element and continuity in design and materials such as the suede and colour finish flows throughout each room. The increase in size of the rooms together with the sleek kitchen design has allowed greater use of the space with direct access to the rear garden ensuring more enjoyment of the outside/ inside entertaining space
